KEYS TO THE KINGDOM
This Tuesday I am going to be (*hopefully) signing my lease for my restaurant. Quite the deal, since it will be my first time working for myself, rather than working for someone else to get rich. Today I am anxious, and afraid, and I don't know what all the feelings are in my mind, racing, overwhelmed. It is like, am I biting off more than I can chew (no pun intended)? But of course, every entrepreneurial spirit has to take risks. This one is just one of those risks. During a recession period, the best efforts are usually rewarded, so I will put in my best effort, and hope that it pays off. In the 1800's when people started growing Chicago, the best recession food was the Hot Dog! So the business I have will focus on fast food carry out. It will be a 3-5 minute service time, and they will be walking away with their food. So it is up to the neighborhood as to whether or not I will have a good business there. I will market like hell, I will smile like hell, I will hire ethnic people to the neighborhood, and I will price efficiently. Control costs, make it sanitary, pay taxes on time, make it fresh, and keep it good. All a bunch of ingredients to the ultimate fast food restaurant. Now it is up to me. Tuesday I will be handed the keys to my kingdom. And when the lease is up, I will have the option of buying the site and the building. Right now, I can only hope people will come back for more. Thank you, have a nice day!
